24/25 Dec 2010 - Merry Christmas the 4th!

This is the fourth year spending xmas with dayan and it is getting more fun each year.

We stayed indoor on the eve since we reckon that the streets will be crowded. Father and son were hooked on the PS3 - castlevania while i worked till the clock strikes 12.

Afterthat - we head to koufu for supper.

Our xmas gifts - majority for dayan since he's got more gifts than us.

We did not had particular agenda for chrismas day. Went to orchard to buy some cosmetic only to realise orchard rd is close from 1pm to 1am. Quickly rushed to parked at heeren since that will be the nearest carpark to CTE for home.

We had Waraku for lunch - ordered the standard unagi for Alson, a ramen kids meal for dayan while i had beef ramen.

Dayan finished all the food (except the salad and fries) which is really good since we had never seen him finishing up the kids meal. For the 1st time!

After lunch - road closure effected- we walked "ON" orchard road which is fun since we never get this chance during normal days. took a few pics before reaching Tangs to discover that they are close.

Went home for dinner before going to IKEA with MIL to buy extra storage - dinner at ikea.

19 Dec 2010 - Last lesson at GUG

It has been 9mth since dayan attended lessons at GUG. Over the 9 mths - we finally see improvement during the last 2 mths of the lessons where he started going into classes without us and cooperating with everyone else in class - remarkable improvements dayan :)

The school organised the xmas potluck party for the children with gift exchange.

07 Dec 2010 - a day at the straits

We have received a letter from PCF to purchase the uniform for dayan which is the same day as our outing. Head out early and managed to reach aljunied before 10am.

We set sail at about 11am. Dayan was very excited about this trip and the moment he stepped into the yatch - he was enjoying himself - running all around.

All went out sun bathing except for the children and of course us (Sis, AL myself)- since we need to look after them.

Lunch was BBQ + fried rice. Dayan being a typical "chinaman" had trouble having lunch since this is not his typical meals but we manage to let him have garlic bread brought by sis to keep him full.

Nap time for the kids and we managed to escape out to enjoy the sea breeze for a while before it began to drizzle.

Stayed indoor until the weather clears and it was closed to evening. We brought the children out since its not sunny.

Dayan was enjoying himself - taking photographs. At one time - he even asked all of us to sit while he takes pic for the group. I get cold feet when i see him backing off towards the rail in order to get everyone into the camera window so Alson rush to stop him.

When the yatch finally anchored - Dayan says he wants to come back again :)

Hari Raya weekend 10 Sep 2010

We went to my aunty's place at Hougang during afternoon for a family gathering. Both papa and myself were surprised with your behaviour - you can interact with my family now as compared to shying away in the past. Late in the evening, we brought you home for porridge and you went to bed early when we told you that we will be going seaside next day.

Went to east coast to cycle and kick ball. You enjoyed yourself and said to come back again. We went old airport road for lunch.

Relaxing Saturday - 28 Aug 2010

Went with colleagues to 15minutes at Laselle before and quite like that place. Iwas surprised when my colleagues told me not to come in the evening if i bring my son cos they have like live band performance at night. Brought Dayan and Alson this time and ordered their speciality - Oriental duck pizza. As parking it ex - we head to Vivo city after food.

Its an amusing and amazing how kids starts their argument with adults in order to get their request fulfilled. We had not really intended to go down to Vivo earlier in the day but only made the decision after we were at compass point. Dayan has his eyes on the stanley set priced at $39.95 but we were reluctant to get for him since it is costly. We made our way out of Metro but this thing still reside in his mind. He wanted us to return to Metro but Alson said no need since the set is sold out by now.

Dy - I told u to get it sooner. You see - now its no more.

Al - We can go Vivo later after you have ur porridge

Dy - my legs are in pain - i cannot walk now

Al - do you need to sit down

Dy - yes - (found a seat)

Dy - now open up the box

Went for a short walk after stanley is retrieve - at the open near marche. We took off our shoes and so did dayan and walk around the grass and in the water. Since he was enjoying - we suggest to go swimming pool next time but he said - no - swimming pool will get the clothes wet .......

19Jul2010 - Universal Singapore

My coy organised a trip for all employees to Uni SG. Dayan came with papa after his lunch. He was always no good with new places and people and the same expectation we had when he arrived at noon.

Before he got settled down - we brought him to Steven Spielberg studio which was a mistake since it scares him much with the action scenes. We tried to calm him and went on to Magadascar ride which he was ok with and played with the work crew. i think we went up 10x till my head spins.

The next stop is Shrek and we thought he would enjoyed the 4D but he cried so hard that we had no choice but to exit the theatre before angering the crowd. He got a gingerbread man after the crying stops since we had retail vouchers to deplete.

Late lunch at Mel - there he enjoyed the hotdog :)

We walked around the place and back to Shrek's world where dayan see Fiona and SHrek photo session. He wanted to take pic with them so we queue for it. Shrek does not look too alike as in the show but Fiona is good.

After that - we took a short break at one of the cafe for drinks and ice cream and alson saw Kungfu panda - dayan want a pic and we went for it but the pic did not turn out good. Back to the cafe - Frankenstein came in to buy food and dayan hurried us to leave. He did not say anything but only after we left - he said he is scared.

We proceed to TP after this but the boy keeps repeating that he will not come to uni sg again - haiz :)

4Jun2010 - A Plan-less week

MIL is travelling again. This time she is only away for 4 days.

With tight budget constraint and incoming oversea vistors - we stayed in for the 4 days.

Bought a set of crayon for dayan and below is the family picture he produced.

Good Friday weekend 02 Apr 2010

It has been an extremely busy weekend at work from home - consecutively 3 days non stop.

Did not really spend much time with dayan but he is pretty well behaved and did not fuss around. Not sure if this is because of age that he understands better or just moods like seasons....

As he grows each day - the surprises he gave are indescribable which never fail to amaze us :)
His witty vocab and comical behaviour is so entertaining that we cannot stop laughing with him around. Peculiar but caring and thoughtfulness ways are always so heartfelt.

This week is the 4th lesson at GUG for dayan and for the 1st time - Alson attend the class with him which marks great progress - since papa is able to get him to cooperate with the teacher and express himself better.

Another 4 more lessons and he will have to move to an older age group class since teacher has accessed him and found him more suited for the older class.

Also - sunday was Ah ma's bday. Dayan decorated a cake at icing room as a gift to Ah ma.

15Feb2010 - 2nd day of CNY

We had no intention of going to the Merlion but as we stood near the floating stadium - Dayan chance upon the Merlion "vomitting" and says he want to go near it.

11 Feb 2010 - The day Dayan was born 3 yrs back

My boy is finally 3!!! I reminisces the time that we spent together - sweet and fun though sometimes with anger and frustration - not at the boy but ....

We did not hold a celebration today because 1) too busy at work 2) too many dinner to attend since its near CNY.
I bought an ice cream cake for him when i return to MIL place at 9pm but he was not interested in the cake - instead his face brighten up when we played with the dry ice that came with
hmm...funny boy

Also - Today marks the farewell for our Mr Yellow. Real sad but no choice.

14 Feb 2010 - into the year of Tiger

Well - the luck for all our family member is not really at best this year so we had better go "pai pai" more

The day is as usual iternary packed but this year we seems to have better time management with little bit understanding from dayan and manage to cook twice.

Parent place -> my uncle place -> back home - > MIL place -> grandparent place - > home

Highlight of the day

The very comforting thing is that when we gave the 1st Hong bao to dayan in the morning - he wanted to gave it to his Ah Ma because he says Hong Bao has $$ and Ah ma wants to eat noodle and buy something. Such a good boy :)

Lowlight of the day

Throughout the whole day - he did not say Gong Xi Gong Xi or Happy new year to anyone but instead he only greet his Irene Gu Gu and his grandpa. Also - he shake hand with them when he get the Hong Bao

As for the rest of the hong bao - he just sit there and wait for the hong bao to come ...sigh

CNY 2009 Eve 13 Feb 2010

We went to YoKoso for CNY reunion dinner with A ma.

This is the 1st time you are experiencing "Lou Hei" with much anticipation and full participation - beaming with joy. I was very happy to see such change in you and looking foward to the next day to see your reaction :)

07 Feb 2010 - Lunar 12th mth day 24th

Today marks the promotion for dayan from a toddler to a preschooler although technically he is still not enrol into a school.

Papa does not want anyone else to celebrate with dayan and so only papa, mummy and toby celebrate for you at home.


I had not realised that the little boy had grown this much and time really passed by too fast.
There are so many things that you could do on your own without my help which makes me feel really satisfied and delighted. Watching you master the milestones and developing your individualistic character is like viewing a movie which i enjoyed very much.

2010 1st Weekend

Mil started the year by coming to our place to stay over night as Dayan keep bugging her to come over. We had an exhausted weekend.



02Jan2010 - Went to compass point for dinner and went back home. it seems like dayan is not used to having one more person on the bed and kept waking up every half hour in the night to cry.



03Jan2010 - Started the day at 730am. Dayan woke up early as usual and wanted to watch his fav cartoon - thomas n friends.

Went out to Yakun for breakfast with Mil at compass point and collect the reserved dress at Metro.

Head back home to feed dayan lunch and we rushed off to Suntec for the Relics Exhibition by 12noon.

This was not something that i would go on my own but when i went it - it was quite a surprise for me as it was not too bad. We also had a pic taken with mil in the exhibit hall.

Waited for brother in law and family to come who are late by 2hours and we had to let dayan settle at KFC as he is getting noiser due to the hunger. After KFC - we rejoined the group at Fish and Co and waited for all to finish the meal at 330

Shop at Carrefour till 530 and head home to feed dayan dinner which i tabao from Crystal jade cos no time to cook.

Due to the pack schedule - we sent dayan home to TP at 7pm cos MIl worries that dayan may fall asleep at anytime.

26Dec2009 - my father's birthday celebration

This time - the pick is at Sakura. As we have all tried toa Payoh Sakura and feels yucks abt it - we head down to Clementi woods this time.

The spread is okay with respect to the price but still Sakura is not my most preferred choice if i could pick it.

This time round - we did not buy a bday cake but it was Jayden my nephew who made it for gong gong.

Dayan was having a good time since ice cream is free flow.

25Dec2009 - PeeKaBoo

We did not have much activities and dayan is still having a great time with the new playstuffs.
Stayed at home for the whole day and went off to PeekaBoo for an hour of energy depletion session
After that - we head to Bedok North to meet my family as my dad received an invitation for 10 . Dayan was behaving well and stayed through the whole session.

24Dec2009 - Xmas Eve

As mil has xmas party - we fetch dayan home earlier than normal from TP. We told dayan that we can open up all the pressies today and he quickly take his shoes and head home with us.

20Dec2009 - Vivo Marche

As MIL is having wedding dinner at Dragon gates - we drove to vivo to wait for her to finish the dinner before driving dayan and her back to TP.

Dayan still enjoyed running around the Toys'R'us as much as before and we later had dinner at Marche.
